Reaseheath Sports Performance Lecturer and UEFA B Coach BA (Hons)
I’ve been involved in football since I was young, in both professional and non-league football and as a player and coach. My BA in Coaching and Sport Development and Masters Degree in Coaching Science allowed me to study the theoretical and practical elements of coaching.
I’ve worked with Crewe Alexandra Football Club for over 15 years within the Community and Academy Departments, working with players from four year- olds to elite professionals. The communication, management and coaching skills I gained from my degrees allow me to improve every player.
As a coach you gain the satisfaction of seeing players develop not only their technical and tactical skills but also socially and psychologically. Every age group and session are different so the skills I developed through studying enable me to deal with these appropriately and to make a positive impact on my players’ development.
Our new degree delivers transferable skills which apply to a variety of sports and career roles. We have outstanding facilities which most universities can only dream of, and we’re looking forward to developing our HE sport provision.
