You will complete VO2 Max testing, blood lactate analysis, performance screening, functional movement testing and functional threshold power analysis using our facilities and equipment

Our specialist facilities and resources attract elite athletes and you will be working alongside players from Crewe Alexandra Football Club and the England Amputee Football Association while national level cyclists and triathletes train with us.
You will stay ahead of the game with opportunities to complete additional coaching qualifications and gain valuable work experience through placements with leading sports clubs and key professionals.

Where will you be studying?
We’ve raised the bar with our Sports Science and Performance Academy to provide you with some of the very best facilities and resources in the country.
We have a new fully functioning and up to date laboratory containing top-of-the-range equipment for physiological and strength testing across a range of sports. As an undergraduate you’ll have the privilege of using this equipment to apply the methodology you have learnt in the classroom.
You could be carrying out physiological testing using our lab based online gas analysis systems, high speed treadmill, wattbike cycle ergometer or altitude chamber, or working on our full squat rack and Olympic lifting platform, force platforms and GymAware rotary encoder power analyser to conduct strength and power testing.
Our sports hub contains a four-court sports hall used for 5-a-side football, badminton, tennis, netball and basketball. Other top-class facilities include an international standard 3G rugby pitch, a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and training gym and fitness studio.
Elite and amateur athletes use our fitness facilities and you’ll have the opportunity to profile, test and provide feedback to these ‘real life’ clients.
Your University Centre Reaseheath Experience
You’ll have the opportunity to experience sport in the sunshine at Club La Santa in Lanzarote, an active holiday resort offering a range of sports plus wellness, health and social activities.
You’ll be introduced to the football industry and the range of careers it offers during a visit to St Georges Park, the National Centre for Football. Thanks to our close partnership with The England Amputee Football Association, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to shadow their experienced coaches and medical staff at University Centre Reaseheath.
