Congratulations on being offered a place to study at University Centre Reaseheath. I hope that you have found the information on our Exclusive Offer Holder Hub useful. We have recently added recordings of our ‘meet the tutor’ sessions in case you missed them, and we will continue adding more information and content in the weeks ahead. Please re-visit these webpages and use the password we have previously sent you to get in.
We are currently planning to begin the new academic year on-time. For new students, our Welcome Week will begin on the 14th September and taught sessions will commence the following week. We are phasing the return of our existing students, so that everyone has chance to settle in.
Subject to government guidance in September, we will reopen the campus for teaching for the start of the new term in September, and we are planning accordingly for any social distancing measures which we may need to put in place. You can be assured that the safety of you, our staff and our visitors is of the highest priority. As a campus-based institution with a large rural site, we have the space to ensure that measures are put into practice which will provide you with a safe and high-quality experience.
As social distancing may reduce the capacity of our teaching facilities, it is likely that your course will be delivered through a blend of online and face-to-face teaching. In this case, we will prioritise practical, laboratory and tutorial sessions for in-person delivery. The applied and industry focused nature of our courses is what makes us unique, and we are committed to ensuring that you have the opportunities to apply the theoretical knowledge you develop to enhance your career prospects. We are working hard to prepare for whatever happens in the coming months, and we are ready to offer teaching and support services on campus, online, or through a combination of both as the circumstances dictate.
Our admissions process will run similarly to previous years and we recommend that you monitor the UCAS website for any changes to timescales. Following the government’s announcement that examinations in the UK were to be cancelled, we know that you may be anxious about the grades you will receive. We hope that you receive the grades you deserve and want you to know that if you do narrowly miss the grades within your offer, we will always aim to have some flexibility.
Over the coming weeks, as our offers are confirmed, we will be in touch with information about our online enrolment process and the steps you will need to follow to setup your IT account ready for September. You are also able to apply for on-site accommodation and transport, details of which can be found in our offer-holder hub referenced above.
We look forward to welcoming you in the Autumn and we will follow all health and safety advice to enable you to arrive and start your course safely. If you have any questions, please contact us using the e-mail address below. We will be happy to help.
