Chris completed BEd (hons) in Science and Outdoor Education at Liverpool John Moores University. Chris has been mountaineering for over 40 years and teaching for 30 years. Chris is a qualified Mountain Instructor, Winter Mountain Leader, Summer Mountain Leader, Single Pitch Supervisor, Paddlesport and Mountain Bike Coach and Trail Cycle leader, Archery leader, Outdoor First Aider, Canoe & Kayak Coach, Rescue Technician, Cave & Mine Abseiling Leader, and Orienteering Instructor.

The use of Yoga as a training/recovery aid for runners.
Chris is a fell & trail runner, who loves long runs in the Mountains, and regularly competes in Ultra Races, having recently run:
- The Yorkshire 3 Peaks
- Welsh 3000’s
- The Cullian Ridge and
- The Sandstone Trail Challenge.
Chris has also previously competed in MTB cross country races. Chris loves reading mainly Detective & legal thrillers and non-fiction about running, mountaineering and history.
