Sophie excelled at University Centre Reaseheath, where she gained a first-class Equine Science degree and some outstanding experiences, including being able to present her research at the Alltech Equine Science conference.
Sophie presented at the conference after researching the use of essential oils as an alternative treatment for equine skin problems for her final dissertation project.
Sophie was also a finalist in the Equine Thesis of the Year, which she says was an amazing experience.
Sophie has used the knowledge, experience and industry contacts gained during her degree to become a laboratory research technician in the Medicines Evaluation Unit at the University Hospital of South Manchester.
“I chose this particular degree because it was science based and also allowed me to follow my passion for horses.”
