University Centre Reaseheath colleagues received multiple individual and team awards for their innovation, leadership and dedication to delivering an exceptional student experience – both inside and outside the classroom.
The Canine Team received a prestigious Team PRIDE Award, in recognition of their sector-leading work in teaching, enrichment and industry engagement.
The team has gone above and beyond to enhance the learner journey – from organising the UK’s first Companion Animal Conference to leading international field trips, such as a recent visit to Cyprus focusing on companion animal welfare.
Their collaboration, academic leadership and commitment to professional development have made a significant impact on students and helped raise the profile of UCR both nationally and internationally.

Held annually, the PRIDE Awards recognise staff across Reaseheath who embody the College’s core values: People, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence.
This year’s Principal’s Award went to Kay Murray, in recognition of her exceptional work in safeguarding. Kay was praised for her compassion, professionalism and collaborative approach to supporting both staff and students in complex and sensitive cases.
Another Team Award went to the Farm Team, who were commended for a transformative year. Their achievements included improved stockmanship and estate presentation, successful integration of new technologies, and high levels of public and student engagement at key events such as Open Farm Sunday, lambing weekends, and the Cheshire Show.
The event also honoured long-serving staff members whose commitment continues to shape the college community including Deborah Whalley, Student Services Administrator, for 30 years of service plus Sophie Evans, Rachel Simpson and Jackie King for over 20 years’ service.
Additional individual awards were presented to:
Adam Cox, for exceptional leadership and daily support for learners and colleagues;
Bethany Russell, for inclusive teaching and mentoring trainee tutors;
Jonathan Price, for innovation and teamwork in Construction (not present on the day);
Lucy Kinnest, for her positive impact and unwavering learner support;
Hannah Bland, for her work expanding inclusive education and supported internships across the college;
Rob Doyle, for creating an uplifting and inclusive learning environment;
Vicky Tomlinson, for driving curriculum improvement and results in GCSE Maths.
Principal and CEO Marcus Clinton said: “The Long Service and PRIDE Awards are always a highlight of the year. They offer a fantastic opportunity to celebrate some of our many unsung heroes who make such a difference – not only to our students, but to each other and to the college as a whole. What stood out this year was the sense of appreciation and support in the room – a real celebration of all that makes Reaseheath special.”
