HE Student Support and Engagement Manager

Liz started her career in the hospitality industry and has a BA in Hotel and Catering Management. Liz later qualified as a teacher and holds QTS with a BA(Hons.) in Business and ICT Education from MMU. Liz also has an MA in Special Educational Needs from the University of Chester and holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).

Her early teaching career was spent in Secondary schools, moving to FE in 2009 before working for an Apprenticeship provider and now working in Higher Education. Throughout her teaching career she has been committed to supporting learners with additional needs, eventually taking on the role of SENCO and Designated Teacher for Looked after children before coming to work at UCR.

Liz has experience supporting students on a wide range of courses such as Supported Internships, Apprenticeships, and classroom-based learning. She is committed to empowering students to develop independence and a love of lifelong learning.
