University Centre Reaseheath leads the field in student satisfaction

Nantwich-based institution ranked top for teaching and student support in National Student Survey.

University Centre Reaseheath has been named as one of the highest-performing land-based higher education providers in the country in the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS), with students praising the quality of teaching, academic support, and learning resources. The NSS is an independent, UK-wide survey completed annually by final-year undergraduate students which spans seven themes.

An impressive 93% of students rated the quality of teaching positively, 94% praised the institution’s learning resources, while 97% said the support they received was good – placing Reaseheath at the top of its competitor group in these three key areas.

The results also show year-on-year improvement across all seven NSS themes, with the greatest gains seen in ‘teaching on my course’, ‘assessment and feedback’, and ‘learning resources’.

Based on analysis of comparable land-based institutions, University Centre Reaseheath is now ranked:

· 1st for Teaching

· 1st for Academic Support

· 1st for Learning Resources

· 1st for Student Voice.

It also ranks in the top three for all remaining categories – ‘learning opportunities’, ‘assessment and feedback’, ‘plus organisation and management’, including organisation and management, and assessment and feedback.

These scores reflect a significant increase on 2024 figures, including a jump from fifth to first place for both teaching and learning resources.

University Centre Reaseheath also outperformed the national average in six out of seven themes, demonstrating the strength of its student experience across academic

and support areas. The institution’s response rate of 82.5% is well above the national average of 71.5%, meaning the results provide a strong and reliable reflection of student opinion.

Dean of Higher Education and Assistant Principal, Jane Nickisson, said: “These outstanding results show how hard our teams work to support and inspire our students. We’ve made a big commitment to improving the student experience, and it’s brilliant to see that reflected in the feedback from our learners.”
