Reaseheath ranks among the UK’s leading specialist land-based universities for student experience

Students at Reaseheath College and University Centre have once again placed the institution among the top specialist land-based providers in the country, with strong results across several key areas of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2026.

Reaseheath’s university centre ranked among the top three specialist land-based providers for Teaching, Academic Support and Student Voice, and achieved second place for Learning Opportunities, reflecting the positive experience students receive through its specialist, industry-focused degree programmes.

The results show that Reaseheath has maintained its high standards, coming out ahead of the national benchmark across five key areas. Crucially, the institution’s top three highest-scoring themes all outperformed the national average, with Teaching on my Course hitting 87.8% and Learning Opportunities reaching 87%. Academic Support remains the major national standout for the institution at 93.1%, compared to the national average of 89.2%.

Together, these results highlight how strongly Reaseheath performs against the wider sector, reflecting the nurturing experience students receive. The institution has also maintained an exceptionally strong position in Assessment and Feedback, demonstrating a consistently high-quality experience across the entire student journey.

The NSS gathers feedback from final-year higher education students across the UK, providing valuable insight into how students view their learning experience, support, resources and opportunities. Reaseheath achieved a 78% response rate, one of the highest among its specialist land-based peer group and well above the England average of 72%, providing a strong and representative picture of student views.

For a university centre built around practical learning, industry connections and close relationships between staff and students, the results highlight the value students place on being part of a supportive and personalised learning community.

Jane Nickisson, Dean of Higher Education, said: “We’re delighted that students continue to recognise the quality of teaching and support they receive at Reaseheath.

“Our specialist approach means our students benefit from strong relationships with their lecturers, access to industry expertise and a learning environment where they are known as individuals. These results reflect the commitment of our staff and the positive experience they work hard to create every day.

“Student feedback is incredibly important to us and helps shape the continued development of our courses and wider university experience.”

With specialist facilities, strong links with industry and a focus on preparing graduates for successful careers, Reaseheath College and University Centre offers a distinctive university experience across land-based and related subjects.
