HE Lecturer/Course Manager – Veterinary Nursing

Amber gained a BA (hons) in English and Creative Writing in 2009 before deciding to move into a career in veterinary nursing. She started in practice as an animal nursing assistant, before going on to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017.  She holds the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing, a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing and is in her final year studying towards an MSc in Advanced Practice in Veterinary Nursing.

Amber has been working in the veterinary industry for over 10 years across a range of clinics from general practice to specialist referral centres and emergency only clinics. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care nursing, inpatient care and welfare, diagnostic imaging and education.   

She completed her initial teaching and assessment qualifications in 2021 and has been teaching veterinary nursing part time for the past 5 years. Alongside her teaching role, Amber continues to work part time as an RVN in a veterinary teaching hospital mentoring students studying towards a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery.
