Craig Bailey JP

Programme Leader for Access to HE, Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food

Craig is an experienced garden designer and landscape architect who has been
creating inspiring spaces for both domestic and commercial clients over several
years. Craig is a lecturer in landscape architecture and Programme Leader for
Land and Environment and Access to HE at University Centre Reaseheath where he was worked
since 2013.

Craig is an award-winning designer and has exhibited at numerous RHS flower
shows since 2009. Craig is especially proud of the RHS Gold medal received for his
garden exhibit ‘Equality Rising’ in 2017. This exhibit also won a best in show award.
Since 2016 Craig has led his landscape architecture students to medal on each
occasion at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

Initially trained at the Welsh College of Horticulture, Craig then studied art and
design for landscape at Glyndwr University and landscape architecture through
Harper Adams University. He obtained a Professional Graduate Certificate in
Education from Glyndwr University in 2013.

For 11 years Craig was the Education Representative on the North West and North
Wales Committee of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.

In 2019 Craig was appointed as a Justice of the Peace assigned to the adult
criminal courts. In 2022 he was appointed as an appeals justice in the Crown
Court. This role provides him with a good working knowledge of summary law,
some of which has a direct relationship with his landscape architecture practice.
Additionally since 2015 Craig has been a local councillor and from 2019-2024
the Chairman of the Council (equivalent of a town mayor). Through this position Craig has developed an understanding of town and country planning and often contributes to planning application consultations.
