Lis was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Plant Science after studying jointly at Newnham College, Cambridge, and University of Manchester. Lis continued onto an MPhil degree in Plant Pathology, which resulted in the publication of her thesis. She has recently completed the Diploma in Education and Training. Lis is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.
