With the HNC Construction Management for England (HTQ Status), you can explore your passion for construction and gain the skills you need to meet the demands of the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.
This qualification will provide you with core skills required to progress onto a range of careers in construction, specifically those related to management and operations. You will develop your confidence to work across different business functions and to lead, manage, respond to change, and tackle a range of complex construction situations.
Additionally, this course provides you with an understanding of the major impact that new innovative digital technologies have on the construction environment.
The HNC lays the foundation of learning by providing a broad introduction to construction and different construction management functions. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing you for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility.
The HNC Construction Management will give you a wide range of construction knowledge and practical skills which you will gain through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios, as well as vocational activities.
During the first year of the course you will develop your knowledge of the construction environment, construction technology, legal and statutory requirements in construction, as well as surveying, measuring & setting-out. In your second year you will complete a construction design project, and study topics such as digital applications for building information modelling, financial management & business practices in construction, as well as supervision & operations.
